Louis Armstrong: Up until the 1920s jazz music was performed in organised or completely unorganized. Louis Armstrong was a Young musician from New Orleans during the nineteen twenties. He was a bandleader, singer, and Trumpet player. Louis made innovations in singing and trumpet jazz such as the extended solo. The extended solo let the the music be structured and it allowed improvisation.

 Famous artist and arrangers

James P. Johnson: James lived with his family around New York and he was exposed to all sorts of music. He was a famous composer and pianist during the roaring twenties one of his more famous compositions for happened to be for Broadway and it was called Charleston. He was one of the first to put out jazz solos for piano with his 1921 phonograph recordings of his own compositions, "Harlem Strut", "Keep Off the Grass", and "Carolina Shout

Jelly Roll Morton: Or Ferdinand Joseph LaMothe was recognized as the first jazz arranger. He was a piano player and composer, he started at age fourteen.
