Typical Instruments
Brass instruments were used such as the trumpet and the trombone. Trumpets generally played more of a melody while trombones were popular for melody roles it also played more of a background roll as well.

The main woodwind instrument was the saxophone. The alto sax was the most common but the tenner sax was also common.
The baritone and soprano saxophones were also used, they all filled background and melody roles in jazz
